MAKO 270

Free-Standing 270° Awning - Mako 270

The Mako 270 wraps right around the side and rear of your vehicle in one continuous span – shade over the tailgate, where you actually cook, pack and stand about. It mounts to most roof racks and platforms on the included L-brackets, and setup is a single movement: unzip the cover, swing it open.

Free-standing, so it holds its shape without a clutter of poles – and when the weather turns, the extendable legs drop down and lock it steady. Extruded aluminum frame, a tough 280 GSM ripstop canopy, and an integrated LED strip for after dark. At 23 kg it earns its spot on an SUV roof without eating your load rating.

What vehicles is it compatible with?

Our awnings mount to most roof racks, crossbars and roof platforms using the included L-brackets and hardware.

Check your vehicle's dynamic roof load rating — the limit while driving — and make sure it covers the awning (23kg) plus your racks , and your rooftop tent too if you're running both together. That last part is where people come unstuck.

Your racks have their own rating, often lower than the vehicle's. Your real limit is the lowest of the three.

Check your owner's manual, and get in touch with your make, model and year if you want us to go through it with you.

What's included?
  • 1000D polyester travel cover
  • L-brackets and mounting hardware
  • Integrated LED strip — USB powered
  • Extendable drop-down legs
Will it handle wind and rain?

It's free-standing, so it holds its shape unsupported. When the weather turns, drop the extendable legs to lock it steady.

Fabric is 280 GSM ripstop polyester with PU5000 waterproofing and UPF 50+ sun protection — four-season ready for real NZ conditions.

Does it work with a rooftop tent?

Yes. It mounts alongside your setup and pairs with any Stoke rooftop tent.

Just make sure your roof load rating covers both together, not each on its own.
