Free Standing Awning - Mako 180

The Mako 180 wraps a full 180° of cover down the side of your vehicle – shade and shelter the moment you pull up. It mounts to most roof racks and platforms, and setup is dead simple: unzip the cover and swing it open.

Free-standing, so it holds its shape unsupported – and when the weather turns, the extendable legs drop down to lock it steady against wind and rain. Lightweight aluminum frame, integrated LED lighting for after dark, and a tough ripstop canopy built for all four NZ seasons. Solid cover from sun and showers – wherever the road ends.

Our awnings mount to most roof racks, crossbars and roof platforms using the included L-brackets and hardware.

Check your vehicle's dynamic roof load rating — the limit while driving — and make sure it covers the awning (21kg) plus your racks , and your rooftop tent too if you're running both together. That last part is where people come unstuck.

Your racks have their own rating, often lower than the vehicle's. Your real limit is the lowest of the three.
